Macroom E is a dynamic enterprise centre which aims to support start-up and growing businesses in Cork.  The organisation runs a number of projects including: the Green Shoots Incubation Programme (www.greenshootscork.ie), the CONNECT Business Network, the SMILE Resource Exchange (www.smileexchange.ie) and the E Centres initiative (www.ecentres.ie).  Macroom E has a work placement post available and wishes to recruit someone to perform the following duties: -

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Assist with the promotion of the new E Centres Initiative for Cork County.  This initiative helps communities to start enterprise centres for start-up and growing businesses in their local communities with funding from Cork County Council.

 

  • Assist with the marketing of the new E Centres project including social media activities and press / promotional materials.

 

  • Assist with networking events regionally to promote the project

 

 

  • Assist with enquiries and the collation of data for grant applications

 

  • Assist with business events and conferences being organised by Macroom E

 

  • Assist with enquiries by businesses who wish to base themselves in E Centres

 

  • Assist with the set-up, furnishing and fit-out of the new E Centres and the management of same (operational policies and procedures etc)

 

 

Type of Person Required

  • An interest in working with businesses to assist economic development
  • Self-starter / self-motivated
  • Good communication skills
  • Good organisational ability
  • Good IT skills desirable e.g use of databases, social media etc.
  • An interest in marketing and promotion

 

This position is a work placement post and is advertised with FAS.  The position offers very worthwhile experience and is an unpaid role with the payment of expenses.
